[Festival]Backstage of Event Companion Vol.1

Backstage of Event Companion Vol.1

One unique and original kind of job---an "Event Companion".
Usually a young (18yr-24yrs old), skinny and tall women are employed.
They are an assistant or attendant of events/exhibition
being as a brightening part of the show itself.

Sometimes they have to break through an audition,
but it is not that difficult to be Event Companion than to be a model.
Wear showy costume, smile and be friendly---that is the one and only task.

If you are to be at Tokyo Motor Show or Tokyo Game Show, one such a big
exhibition in Japan,
you can see hundreds of these Event Companion girls at almost all the
booths.
For TMS/TGS, a special feature also made in the popular site such as yahoo
and goo.

These girls like to wear cute costume and take picture.
With advance of cellphone's camera efficiency and popularization of blog,
you can find off-shots of girls taking picture at the backstage of the
show.

But it might be hard for you to find such girls pictures because of
disadvantage of language.
So, now comes Rena here! I'll introduce many cute Japanese chicks wearing
costumes in this series.
Maybe you can find me myself in, too...since I am one of "Event Companion"
as well ;)

Anyways...here are my favorite friends.

...please don't ever ask me why all girls are taking similar pose ;p
Wanna see more girls?? Well, see you next time then!

[Hobby]Eternally loved railroad models- Japanese are enthusiastic for its delicate miniature(vol.2)

As you might know, the housing situation in Japan is terrible. Most rental apartments where business bachelors in urban areas squeeze themselves in are called “one-room apartment” just as its name, do not even have any partition to separate bed rooms, kitchen and store space. Families could not manage to own a house and have one room each for all family members. In Japan, it’s no more than a dream for maniacs to have a special room just to place their railroad model. Thus they usually secure spaces under their beds or in the closets for their dear dioramas as if they live in a Ninjya’s gadget-full premise. Gage N fitted these housing situations in Japan. And what is more, its delicacy ideal for a diorama, made up Japanese’s preference to gage N rather than smaller gage Z.

With this thing and that, gage N railroad model diorama targeted on middle-aged and elderly people is a hot item in Japan. Exquisitely done with reasonable price 483-609 yen (4-6US$), gage N diorama “Streets of the old days collection” (http://www.tomytec.co.jp/hobby/machi/index.html) by traditional Japanese toy maker TOMYTEC is a recent huge hit. Major publisher Kodansha’s “Making Showa period’s railroad model” (http://shop.kodansha.jp/bc/tetsudomokei/) is in great demand too. By collecting fascinating models attached to weekly published magazines, the reader will be able to complete a little railroad town in fifty weeks. The size of the whole town would be just 60 x 45cm- excellent to keep it under your bed!
“Fine-made while compact” is one of the important elements Japanese demands for toys as well as for all industrial goods.

[Gourmet 001]Japanese Loves Ramen

Japanese Loves Ramen

Been sweaty and fogging up glass,
many Japanese supremely feel blissed to sip the slim noodle entagling with a heavily rich soup.
Sometimes you have to wait in a line of hundreds of people to eat at the popular ramen shop.
Cannot imagine to wait for that long time?
Well, for Japanese it's worthy enough to wait...they are really in love with ramen.

Ramen is originally from China, but grown up in Japan, now it's a part of her culture.
There are many locally customized ramen at each of area/prefectures everywhere in Japan.
If you go to a bookstore in Japan, definitely may find a specialized ramen-book guide.
Just like Americans eat Hamburger and such scene may seen in movies and films, Japanese eat ramen popularly.

Ramen soup has basically three tastes; Shoyu (soy sauce), Shio (salt), and Miso (soybean).
These are only base taste. Each of ramen is originally created in many ways, sometimes using pork as a stock.
Every single ramen has own characteristics, and it's tasty! Hope you try and find your own "love" ramen.

Prices are 500yen to 1200yen in average.
You can create your own favorite ramen with toppings (optional), too.

↓Hakata-Tonkotsu Ramen...Taste the delicious noodle in white pork broth (some say smells unique).

↓It is free to arrange your ramen with toppings on the table.

Eternally loved railroad models- Japanese are enthusiastic for its delicate miniature

Current Japan embraces hundreds of “maniac” cultures; “anime” (animation), “manga” (comics), games, costume-plays, to mention just a few. Besides those, middle-aged and elderly Japanese are particularly addicted in railroad models.
You might imagine popular gage 00 (1/76, gage width 16.5mm) or gage HO (1/80, gage width 16.5mm), smallest gage Z (1/220, gage width 6.5mm) when you talk about railroad models, but the most favored size in Japan is gage N (1/148-160, gage width 9mm). Why is this? There might be variety of reasons, even so the largest reason is its size of gage N.

It wouldn’t bother you much if you are only to have a few gage O train models (1/48, gage width 29.9mm) as an interior. However, once you start imagining about laying lines for your trains to run around and reviving familiar sceneries around those lines, the space you need for your world would become boundless. Not to mention people in the world with great gardens and huge rooms, hardly any lucky Japanese could realize their fantasy in this tiny little country.

[Trend]How Japanese Spent a Christmas Time?

How Japanese Spent a Christmas Time?
------------------------------------

In December, Christmas-time atmosphere wrap Japan.
Beautiful illuminations everywhere---
near the station, at the department store, and to the main streets.

Does anybody know the true meaning of a "Christmas"?
IT DOESN'T MATTER.
No one knows why but almost all Japanese people are immersed into the situation,
and participate in every kinds of what is so called a Christmas Event.

By the way, most people spend December 24th-25th as...

-Parent gifts children a toy.
(this year's hottest item is the Belt of a Masked Rider Den-Oh)
-Eat Christmas dinner with family.
-Party around at the clubs such as Roppongi etc.
-Men splurged on a ring for lovely girlfriend .
-Couple stays a night together...rich ones are to high ranked hotels, poor ones are to somewhere else.
-Single stay at home, watching TV comedies, bearing from loneliness.

And shortly, in the morning of 26th, all christmas decorations transform to "happy new year" ones.
A city remodel herself from advanced western mode to classical Japanese looks.
Dressses are to Kimonos...wine to sake...chicken to New Year Dishplates, and so on.

You know what new year dishplate look like?? Aren't they delicate and cute??

She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her. Watching her weird behaviour is Kyon who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person who talks to her. When Kyon comments about Haruhi's joining every club in school and then quitting he unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own after school club.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu?) is the name of the 2006 television anime about a girl who, unbeknownst to her, possesses the power to change reality. The story is based on the series of novels, the first of which bears the same name. The anime adaptation, directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and produced by Kyoto Animation, shares the first novel's plotline, interspersed in six self-contained episodes. Intermixed between them were seven episodes based on chapters from third, fifth and sixth novels. The ninth episode, "Someday in the Rain", was a new story written specifically for the anime by Nagaru Tanigawa. The fourteen episode series premiered in Japan on April 2, 2006 and aired until July 2, 2006. Notably, these episodes were not originally broadcast in chronological order.[2]

Soon after the show aired, Kadokawa Shoten received various offers from companies in regards to licensing the anime, manga, and novels.[3] On December 22, 2006, the website asosbrigade.com revealed that the anime version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was licensed for North American distribution by Kadokawa Pictures USA, who sublicensed production and distribution to Bandai Entertainment.[4][5] The first and second DVDs were released on May 29, 2007 and July 3, 2007, respectively.

The second season of the anime series was first announced in a full-page advertisement of Asahi Shimbun on July 7, 2007 in Japan[6]. Promotional videos for the second season included a live action sequence inspired by the Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody chapter from the third novel which depicts Haruhi and Kyon breaking into school grounds with the footage taken from surveillance cameras.
